The Road to Recovery
Searching for Salvation
The war on drugs is on life support, addiction to drugs and alcohol rages on and tens of millions (addicts, families and friends) are desperate for help. Recovery too often circles back to relapse. And so it goes, recovery~ relapse, recovery~ relapse.
THE ROAD TO RECOVERY, Searching for Salvation is a book of hope and encouragement for addicts and their families and friends. It’s also for all the rest of us on the Recovery Road for the problems (trials and tribulations) we face each day. The reality is that we are all on a road to recovery of some sort and we are all searching for our version of a better place, for salvation as in a sure passage to heaven or perhaps salvation as in doing God’s work every day and having the peace, joy and contentment He intends. The book contains over 60 original contemporary paintings that include either scripture or inspirational writings. It also has occasional comments about being an addict, life on the recovery road and how difficult it is to push on only to relapse. Believing in God figures prominently in the observations. There is a hard edge to some comments as the life of an addict demands it. The process of becoming and remaining clean and sober is a perilous journey.
